Surprisingly, it's actually one of the most simple yet accurate welfare measures in multiple species, all due to the fact it indicates an animal's "reward-sensitivity.” In this seminar by AWE's Dr Isabella Clegg, we cover the principles of anticipatory behaviour and reward sensitivity, review the existing research and finish with some ways that caretakers can use anticipatory behaviour on a daily basis to understand welfare states.
