This seminar explored what the mainstream social ethic might be regarding cetacean facilities, and what it means for the industry's future. We looked at the changes in both animal welfare and the mission of public display facilities and explored whether sanctuary projects are viable alternatives, using case studies from around the world. AWE believes that it is important to discuss where the public display of cetaceans might be heading, as this could be the forerunner for ethical debates on other zoo animals in the near future. This seminar was recorded live on May 3, 2023.
